I fully understand that U.S. manufacture isn't going to beat rock bottom prices, but I see this as potential good news nonetheless.

If they can improve reliability/longevity significantly, I'd be happy to pay somewhat more, but they're gonna have to work out their price point really carefully. The only other tube they make is the bigass 300B for """""""audiophile""""""" use that costs a fortune, but extreme luxury pricing more normalized in that market.

Re: Hope you have backup tubes.
A pair of 300B's is like $1500. If they were making tubes for guitar amps they'd have to price around 1/10 of that for most people to even consider it, at which point the people buying 300B's would surely start asking questions?
I'm sure they'd make a dime or two selling super spenno boutique power amp tubes to Joe Bonermassage and John Meh-er fanatics, though.

Oh yeah, audiophiles often pay big money for their tubes, and everything else. I seem to recall seeing hand crafted wooden knobs to fit over existing potentiometers in several hundred if not over a thousand dollar asking ranges. I mean, those people are crazy and do not warrant comparison (a little tongue in cheek here, I will admit)
Musicians are a different market, one that is listed in their questionnaire. Even if they wind up pushing $100 12AX7s, I'm happy to see possible *expansion* of manufacture of old technology in a somewhat local manner. So long as they manage to avoid pumping out another Superfund site.
