Saw 'em in Philly and D.C.

This band could change everything.

That's a pretty bold statement! I agree. It aggravates me how everybody keeps comparing them to their old bands. Just enjoy the music for what it is people. I think the music they make is an excellent melting pot of all the members past musical influences. Similarities are inevitable. Back to your point; they could revive Rock N' Roll.

Holy shit, this is good stuff. I have to say, I'm liking this album more as a continuous whole than I was as a bunch of random singles and live vids. I've got a sneaking suspicion that this will be one of those albums that goes directly into my car stereo and doesn't get ejected for 8 months or more.

And it most definitely earns an appearance by these guys:

Totally. It's definitely better listened to as a whole rather than snippets. I have a suspicion, like you, that it will be in my CD changer for a while!

listened to the whole album and still firing ropes. (that's gross, if you didn't get it, but still complimentary). sounds great in the car, but so many nuances, can't wait to hear it on headphones!!!

yeah, i haven't been too thrilled with the albums that have come out this year, maybe Sonic Youth's The Eternal... but this is a great great album, thank god we are living in an age where guys like this can get together and just play what they want....

Agreed! I bought the CD today and am enjoying cranking it on my commute to and from work! Lot's of great songs on there. The end starts to run together for me but I really wasn't 'listening' to it. So far my favorite is Bandoliers. It's the most 'pop' sounding song on the album! I also like the heavier ones Dead End Friends and Reptiles. Hell, after a few more listens I'll  them all!

About to go pick up the album (along with the new Katatonia and ::flameshield:: John mayer). It was sold out at a few places when I checked yesterday, but I finally found one.
It's becoming hard to find real places that sell music that aren't walmart/target.
