Any abrupt sounds into a microphone. I mean, they use the popping of a balloon to make convolution reverbs for a reason.

I used this modded blackfly box, and I think it shows off the decay of the Meris really well. While the Merc7 does a lot of unnatural reverb sounds, the base reverb sound is really convincing and among the best I've heard.

Excellent idea, thank you!

With reverbs I'm quite picky in the sense that a reverb pedal for my needs shall have Stereo IN and Stereo out!

That said my devices of choise are:
Meris Mercury 7
Zoom MS70 Multistomp
Line6 HX Stomp

As an example, this album of mine was heavely shaped by the sound palette I was able to create with the Mercury7:

The MS70 is still a super cool unit, capable of some glorious sounds!

I like glassy reverbs i.e. cathedral reverbs. Its the VOX AC30 of reverb tones. No pitch shifting, no nothing. Just mid scooped reverb, but with boosts to the AC30 frequencies while retaining a deep bass response (best to be running guitars through a bass amp like an Ampeg or an ultra high headroom clean guitar amp with KT88 tubes). Play your 4 major chords and watch the verbessence follow your catchy melody and make it become the voice of Angels and God illuminating the audience of the kingdom of God, the new heaven and new earth that will be awaiting them.

Which reverb would be a typical "glassy" reverb? I thought Roland/Boss and Yamaha racks had a glassy reverb sound, so i guess RV-500 is also glassy.
Ventris can sound pretty transparent with low modulation.

Mercury 7 is tight.

Only two algorithms but both are sick and it's all I need.

recent searches have had me eyeing the Kilpatrick Redox and this'n:

tho, admittedly both are more oriented for tabletop/synth use :idk:

I'm always curious why some companies put an on and off switch and a footswitch on pedals. I had a zen delay for a hot minute and it was the same way (not the footswitch but a bypass button)

There is a new Ezhi & Aka Terverb coming, which is super cool. He’s doing preorders for them now:

Is this based on Spin FV-1 chip?

I was wondering the same thing. Fits the bill based on parameters and rotary selectors.

:idk: maybe? :snax:

the claimed max sample rate seems to be higher than the (theoretical?) max of an FV-1 tho? (64khz vs. 50 khz)? Don't take that for anything like "knowledge" tho - I'm an armchair observer at best

Maybe somebody here (you, UC?) knows whether that 50khz figure is for real, or if it can be kludged to appear to be 64khz? Again, :idk:

This German-language article (ty Google translate) doesn't settle the issue re: what chip, and doesn't question the max rate (tho the author does opine that he prefers a lower SR setting as the 64khz was "too clean" for his taste) - but I found it an interesting read.... :snax:

https://www.amazona.de/test-cybersound- ... prozessor/

With that price, you'd hope it was "more" than an FV-1 in there :p

Don't seem to be many out in the wild?

I agree with others that the Spin chip has a certain sound that can get tiresome.
OTOH some pedals sound amazingly good regardless (Fabrikat, Bitquest for example).
I would agree 399 Euro would be a bit much in that case.
