I don't know if I would call myself a "cellist". "A dude who owns a cello" is more accurate.

Been lusting after a new alu-neck for a while, one which isn't a baritone like my EGC.
Got some extra fuck-you-money after recording a local band, so contacted TTTides and put in an order.

Managed to not get too much stuff in 2020, and through cautious pandemic livin' I'm in okay shape to think about something new.
Instead of several cheap things, been considering one expensive-assed thing... I keep hearing the word Zoia being whispered in my ear. Part of me thinks if we get back to being able to have shows, it'll help fulfil my dream of needing to haul less stuff around — and another part of me thinks if we don't have shows for another year it'll give me something deep to explore with.
In my mind I could do a lot of cool weirdness with it... and use it as a sound source as well as a manipulator.
Kinda want a PurPLL as well whenever there's another batch. And I'll inevitably covet whatever Pladask comes up with next year...

My gear goalz are about the same for 2021 as they are for the rest of 2020.
- Some USB interface to plug into and record - I just need to get one and do it. Keep delaying because fun toys first.
-Delay (might have multiple)
-Looper ( could be part of a delay unit but I am thinking just a ditto or Boss looper is going to be enough)
-Ring Mod, Chorus or some other modulation - really looking at the Bitquest to pull a lot of these sounds - so that is looking more likely the next pedal I will probably get. Maybe an envelope filter if I find a good / cheep one.
-a nice pedal power supply - will probably go back to a Choiks DC10
my goal is add more if I am playing more and feel like my skill level understanding of bass guitar has grown - Almost 20 year of fucking around with this instrument and I feel like I should understand more / play better, it really has been such a positive addition in life that I never knew I was missing. Amazing how binge video game playing really makes you think less instead of more.
after that mayyyyybe start looking into a new amp / head situation. I can go any route from tube head / hotplate - class d amp of some sorts. I dont want to like the new darkglass bass heads but they do look rather good.

I think I'm gonna get a Recovery FX Pearl fuzz at some point. Maybe a Pitch Fork+.
I've also been wanting a custom TTTides something (probably a bass at this point in time) ever since David made me a custom Bass VI neck earlier this year and I absolutely love the quite thin and super flat neck profile on it. It makes me want to sell my classic 50s P bass because its neck is the exact opposite of thin and flat. But I'd get a powder coated finish on a full custom for sure as I also own 2 TB2000's and prefer the one with the imron coated neck for several reasons (less cold being one of them).
A Millimetric Instruments bass as all-wood backup (for certain seasons and/or moods) to my TB2000s is something I've been thinking about for a while but even though the prices are decent, I don't think I can stomach a wait close to 3 years.
Aside from my usual aluminium boner, I've recently developed a lust for an Esh Stinger with a low B ( thank you, Type O Negative

) but there's so many versions and I'm not sure if I can enjoy active basses (in the past I've always hated how those interact with other pieces of gear even if they sound great direct) and/or a 5 string.
I also get riled up over standard scale electrics often but since I own 3 and they are by far my least touched instruments I probably shouldn't drop serious coin on a strat, jazzmaster, Harmony Silhouette or whatever really.

I think getting my 7 string bass project up and running... and some day, some day receiving my replicator jr delay from T-rex that I ordered in June...

I keep thinking that an Orange CR60 or CR120 would be a
good supplement to the 40-year-old amp that I've been
using for the past nine years (Lab Series L7).
I also keep thinking about a simple Tascam-style 4-track.
In the '90s I borrowed ones from various friends & loved the ease
of recording and layering and the lack of latency. The audio
quality was no worse than what I was putting into it.
I do have a Zoom H5 that apparently can do overdubs. But
I've watched the video describing what to do and promptly
forget it by the time I get around to wanting to record something.
I don't want to have to memorize a routine. I want to press a button
and start recording.
Seeking gear simplicity. Direct connection. Ease of use.

1) New guitar build: Robot Graves baritone neck on order, should arrive in January. Will find a suitable body after that and confirm balance is good before deciding or buying the rest of the pieces. The only solid plan is to have a Mastery bridge on it. The rest is TBD.
2) Desk: The antique wood thing I use now has no leg room since buying a subwoofer for my monitors. It wasn't comfortable anyway.
3) Maybe a 2nd modular case: Focused on percussion and effects. But I am keeping the GAS away by committing to what I have already. Only will happen if three conditions are met:
A) achieve Jedi Master status with my current modules, fully understand all their capabilities and uses, RTFM, watch videos.
B) Release another solo album with modular gear as the focus. For me. Not that anyone ever listens to what I make. Nor should they.
C) Proper funding is secured from selling my EGC bass VI and other gear.
4) Shure SM-57: Need a 2nd mic for better stereo recordings of two amps.
5) Maybe a video camera: To make videos of gear shit. Duh. Might have to upgrade my laptop too.
