Have to figure out what to do about trick or treaters. Moved to a far suburb where a lot of folks are taking their health advice on the pandemic from their Cheeto Jesus, so if they come, I definitely want it contactless on my end.

the moms of my town have spoken. we're to put the candy out on tables on the lawn where the kids can parade by joylessly, collecting their sugary allotment and fading back to safety :/

I'm getting married on the 31st... How spooky is that?
So we're going to the Halloween party that we're hosting (that is a surprise wedding party for the guests) as bride and groom.

That's awesome.

Halloween update: in a surprisingly festive turn of events, we found maggots in our pumpkins. We bought pumpkins to carve jack-o-lanterns. When we started carving them, one of them had maggots in it. We threw away everything in sight, cleaned up the maggots, and cleaned the entire apartment. The worst part is, these pumpkins weren’t grown to be decorative like pumpkins in the USA. These pumpkins were grown for food.

not nice. It happens I guess, plants sometimes have creatures inside. But always unpleasant to find that stuff.

i've got two separate birthdays to help celebrate that weekend, no pubs entailed, but wherever we go, we will be in the spoilsport bubble....
