To continue going off topic, I traded for a Squier Paranormal Cyclone and it's a lot of fun. The neck is very comfortable. The pickups sounded pretty good in the shop but, when I got home, I realized they were much quieter than on my EGC so I stuck an EQ at the beginning of the pedal chain so I can switch between them.
It's been a while since I've played with a strat vibrato and that's kind of a novelty.

It's probably as much fun to play as my old Mustang was. Turning on the middle and bridge pickup at the same time sounds like what I imagine a tele bridge pickup sounds like, but I haven't really spent much time with one. I've read that the pickups are supposed to be kind of stratty but I can't comment on that.
It's shorter scale than a standard Fender and longer than Mustang/Jaguar so it has its own feel, in that regard.

The tuners feel cheap and the bridge saddles are some weird kind of bent metal things that I've never seen before. They don't seem especially high quality. The nut looks a little rough but it's not giving me any trouble. The finish looks fine, albeit thick and glossy.

I have one of the vista super-sonics that I paid like $400 for in 2015, and I like it a lot. I'd consider grabbing one of the new ones, but I really can't stand either of the colors they come in. I want either pink flake or just a classic black. Too bad the vistas got expensive
