Very glad you had the outcome you did. I have grown more and more dreadful of my potential to find myself in this very situation. I drive nearly 6,000 miles a month which has certainly cast a respectful fear and hypervigilance. You had the best possible outcome of the most routine fear of my life. Not to mention about 80% of my out of state driving is in TX (tailgate xpress). Driving on I-30 on a 90 degree day is more nerve wracking than a fresh freeze on 94 in Michigan.

i basically don't go out at night in the car any more when it's in the 35 degree to 25 degree range.

i'm settled down more nowadays. starting a new relationship has really helped chill me out, but there's still a level of nervous tension that will probably hang around for a little while.
