Also.. Excluding everything after stomp 442... And state of euphoria and I'm the man... what's wrong with anthrax?

More_Divebombs wrote:Zero pints, unprovoked: Three out of Thrash's 'Big Four' can get fucked. Anyone who says they like Megadeth and/or Anthrax is lying. Metallica's fine, but their bad discography outweighs their good, so they've deleted themselves from the top spot. Slayer's good, but Voivod are better than all of them. There's just a Big Two now. Deal with it.
Half a pint, limbering up, ready to block an attack: Nobody likes Crass. Nobody has ever listened to a Crass record front to back and said "yeah, this is good". Also - Sunn O))) are the Ramones for hipsters. There're more Sunn t-shirts in circulation than there are fans of Sunn. Admit it. You don't like them. You want to. But you don't. Poseur.
Check - let’s get a beer! Megadeth and Anthrax fucking suck. Sodom, Destruction and Kreator tump anything the “big four” did except for Metallica up to and including AJFA who are the greatest band to ever exist. EDIT - but WENT TO SHIT
I will say - I did used to like Sunn O)))) - a lot! NWW remix, White 1 & 2, Oracle, Domkirke..... I dug it! I don’t think they have put out a good record since Monoliths and Dimensions. Altar is boring. Terrestrials is awful. Stephen O’Malley makes GREAT records with St. Francis Duo & Aethenor. EDIT: I got to see them live in 2005 - with Oren Ambarchi in a church with lots of fog and it was great! Oren did a solo set too - GREAT!!!

Salem’s Pot are absolutely brilliant and the ONLY current stoner band putting out solid riffs IMHO.... however those stoners won’t put out a new record like come on!!

Heres a few hot takes - I’m on three beers and a glass of bourbon.
Led Zeppelin 1-4 are pretty good - no Zeppelin hate here but anything after IV is unlistenable garbage and I’d rather stick a sewing needle in my ear than hear Fool in the Rain ever again.
Yoko Ono is great and I like the Plastic Ono Band LP better than anything The Beatles ever did. And I don’t hate The Beatles. But I don’t really care about them either. Yoko rules!
Venom, Celtic Frost, Hellhammer, Sodom and Mercyful Fate made better black metal than any of the “second wave” and beyond.
Rotting Christ made better black metal than the Norwegians.
Revenge aren’t that great and war metal is riffless talentless trash for racist edgelords.
Tom Petty is great.
In My Head is a better Black Flag album than any of the pre-Rollins material. My War is the best Black Flag LP.
Phil Collins Genesis is as relevant as the Peter era.
Formulas Fatal to the Flesh and Gateways to Annihilation are legit Morbid Angel LPs and deserve RESPECT!!!
Technical Ecstasy is a legit Sabbath slapper and people who claim the “first four” or “first six” only live in the land of the falses.

Here’s my last hot take: The Sciences is as good as any other Sleep album. Maybe better?

Dopesmoker and Volume One are better. Holy Mountain is... I could go either way but it gets points for being influential and I've heard it a lot? The Sciences sounds significantly better than HM so that's nice
EDIT: No I went back and listened to Holy Mountain a bit this morning, it still sounds bad but it's better

Puppets is the only listenable mctallica album that is not ripping off Motörhead, also Motörhead prooves Lars can't drum via covering mctallica songs.. The first black flag ep was the only thing interesting the ever did. Sleep is boring and tool just a proggy version of the ramones

Tool fucking sucks. I don’t understand why this band has so many fans. Weren’t there a whole bunch of sexual assault allegations last year? If cancel culture is real explain this to me!?!! [gestures wildly at Tool fans]

Of all the things I typed I’m most passionate about those Greeks and the first wave! Some of that Norwegian shit is okay though. Ulver, Forgotten Woods, Emperor....
I did a scuffle through my record collection and there’s like 6 contemporary black metal bands I’m into. Perverted Ceremony, Witchcraft, Ysengrin.... shit I guess that’s about it.... y’all ain’t sounding like Beherit in 2019 I’m not fucking having it.

Sublime have great tone.
In fact, they're probably underrated. If bum bags are getting a pass in modern culture (and they're the visual equivalent of the Date Rape lyrics: entirely without merit and extraordinarily tasteless), Sublime should too.

I feel like no thinking person has ever disputed that Sublime have a couple of jams and some real stinkers including the aforementioned barf-fest.
I still think they're overrated.
