Not prime ILF material, but Van Hagar F.U.C.K. and Balance albums are widely mentioned examples. It’s also a component element of some big 80s L.A. studio guitar sounds, usually adding further thickness to chorus.

I didn't like the predelay on it. in order to get a deeper chorus like the small clone does I had to push the predelay back which was pretty noticeable and it irritated me. I also HATE vibrato so the usable range on the Somersault just wasn't big enough to justify $200 in my book. Won't lie... got it because rainbows and lilac. It's a great pedal for some people but I didn't like it at all.

I have their Meteore, and the pre-delay is the only thing I don't like about that pedal. With the Meteore tho, I feel like you can obscure the predelay in the reverb and overdrive, so I can see how it would be more annoying coming through clear in a chorus. The Audio Adventure Lunge seems rad, and I love the sound of the first promo video they put out for it, but there seems to be a def pre-delay thing going on in the only other demo out there...

I'm in the other camp, I do not like pitch shifter kind of chorus, and I don't like stereo chorus. Just give me any generic analog chorus. look for the ones with a tone knob like the arion chorus it makes pretty convincing leslie sounds

It took me a long time to get along with chorus and I definitely think it can be overdone. Still prefer it more on bass than guitar.

I really love the Moog MF Chorus with the control over the delay line time and feedback. A mix control is pretty crucial for dialing in the right amount, plus it's nice when you can go 100% wet for vibrato.
For simple chorus pedals, I would stick with something like a Boss CE-2 (Waza would be great) or DC-2 (especially in stereo).

i despised chorus for decades because it was so over-used and over-modulated in the 80s. it took me a long time to get over that, and to actually enjoy the sound on songs by e.g. The Cure, Lush, or Peter Hook's bass sound. i still haven't found the ideal chorus..i currently have a TC SCF which is great on flanging but not so hot for chorus, and a Seppuku Mind Warp which i can only use in normal settings with the modulation knob turned most of the way down cos the pitch-shifting is so extreme at the end of each duty cycle. after hearing that James in Manic Street Preachers uses them i'm seriously considering a run-of-the-mill Boss unit, cos he sure makes his sound good.

Good call, I think for me, I would probably need to have it be pretty subtle, like just below noon in the mix maybe. I like the MF Delay and Boost pedals, so I'll check out the MF Chorus too.

Maybe you'd prefer mostly vibrato? I don't love chorus but I do love the idea of random vibrato e.g. the Shallow Water, with just the tiniest bit of dry signal mixed in. So you have the normal dry signal just peeking through while this other signal just wobbles around making things interesting

I currently use the mf chorus, it is awesome, the feedback and delay knob is super useful to get out of the boss vintagey chorus and get more weird new wave chorus. great pedal useful for alot. Ibanez choruses are kinda cool too, not as refined as the boss flavour so it doesnt get as mushy. What convinced me was everyone's hatred of (distorted) chorus and my need of being an asshole ...also goofing around pretending i was a 2 metre tall green man...

I’ve gone back and listened to a few more demos of the Walrus Audio Julia, and that one seems to be one I hate the least at the moment. It’s got some nice sounds.

You might like the Warped Vinyl. I have a MkII, got it used for around $200, because a chip (V3207) was making intermittent scratchy noises. It actually just added to the vinyl-ness of the sound, but Chase Bliss nevertheless sent me free replacements for an easy fix.

Anyway, that pedal can do pretty much anything in the chorus/vibrato realm. I use it mostly ramping between dry and vibrato, only on the left amp. Used to run an Ibanez stereo (twin-cam) chorus, which although nice and thick had too much level boost to be practical.

I have been into the concept of that ibanez design for a while. Tho as i have understood the two delay lines aren't L/R but summed and then +/- like any stereo chorus? Idk if thats the case but if not it would be an awesome dimension/tri-chorus alternative
