I don't like the bitquest flanger either but I am in love with my Boss BF-2. I mostly use it for psuedo chorus sounds. Used it in a very gothy dream pop/darkwave band. It was always on and before all my dirt. Love love love it. Paired well with an Iron Pig (RAT) and ss/bs Mini. I honestly haven't messed with many other flangers, I got the BF-2 about four years ago and haven't ever wanted anything else flangeyyyy.

How about 8 knobs? Does anyone know if pyramids is true stereo or sum to mono?

Too bad the infanem dual flanger never joined this reality. :idk:

Gotta have to try out some more stuff with the bitquest when I get back to my board on sunday. I did some light testing in guitar rig last night but its damn underwhelming mod-wise. That subdecay one looks cool but I wouldnt use anything other than sine anyways. Isn't also based on almost the same chip that the boss and maxon uses? Gonna look more into vintage ones but everything is expensive these days

I'm almost convinced I should dual-wield chorus again. The thing is I want something with a polarity switch and tone knob which isn't alot unless you're down to switch jacks all the time.

Gotta do more flange listening too

I always rocked the BF-3 post fuzz and never was tempted to try anything else. Sounds like a planet exploding

Chiming in to fourth? fifth? the suggestion of the Starlight MKII. I'm total sucker for early Cure and it totally nails it. I often think I'm not fully exploiting all the possibilities of the Starlight and I should just sell it and get a BF-2, but then I dive a little deeper and it never fails. I particularly like the ability to choose either sine or triangle setting - subtle, but tasty, differences.

that said I'm a flanger person I enjoy flangers in general
+1

It has an off center LFO sweep that I've never heard on other flangers. It's unique. Very vocal too.

I know exactly what you mean! I love this about it, most settings it can be tweaked to dip the pitch a little like a tremolo arm.

Maybe this? It's supposed to "bring about that gothic darkness that you know and love".

The Alexander F.13 Neo is a great bit of kit for people who don't like flangers. The multiple waveforms let you get some great non-flanger flange sounds going (and it's a pretty bloody good chorus and vibrato too).

On the F.13 are you able to dial in a stationary / non sweeping flange to get those resonant steel drum-ish tones?

It all sounds the same to me, but I find both effects largely embarassing. That said, I have (and sometimes enjoy) the Spectre, which is as close to a flanger-hater's flanger as I've ever found.

I got an MXR and an H9 with modfactor’s algorythms:
my opinion is that flangers sound better in the fx loop (if your amp have one),
I don’ like it in front of the amp, it’s too much.
