And thanks! I had a lot of fun playing with IFP. I'm glad there are people out there who appreciated it.

i knew i was going to forget somebody i love, and it's Brix Smith Start of The Fall and Brix and the Extricated. here's two sides of Brix from her most recent album. i particularly adore the way she snarls through the chaos of the bridge on "Vanity" from 2:38 and then breaks free and soars above the reprise of the chorus at 3:00-3:10.

The good Thorr's Hammer, not the shitty NS band that apparently shares a similar spelling. Runhild supplies all vocals and is probably one of my favourite metal singers ever.

You all have given me some awesome suggestions here! Many thanks!

The reason I thought I could offend someone was because of the way I used to think and not how I currently think. I never know anymore if I'm going to piss someone off, so I figured, I'd just add that just in case.

Awesome stuff!

Emma Ruth Rundle is one of my favs btw! :)

I read the initial post as an invitation to offer suggestions and indicative of an opening mind. Always glad to share new music with others and could literally do this all day (if time permitted) given the number of female-fronted acts stored in my brainpan.

A couple alt/gaze bands from the long-defunct Bedazzled label:

Her new album is awesome. I also love Marriages. She rules. She’s coming to town at the end of March and I’m pumped.

I'm a bit late to the party, but there's so much good stuff here. I tend towards women doing rock, but anything unexpected is ok by me. Lots more women than men who have unique sounds in rock-adjacent styles these days. Too many to post them all, so I'm playing random favorites starting with the obligatory Kelly and Kims.

The Breeders - Son of Three. This album kind of got overlooked, but it really grew on me. Cool song, not too long.

Ciccone Youth - Addicted to Love. Kim Gordon isn't known for covers, so this is a rare treat. Department store video karaoke at its best.

Heartless Bastards - Hold Your Head High. Erika Wennerstrom doing a solo acoustic version isn't really representative of the band, but this showcases her voice nicely. The band's catalog runs from Crazy Horse tinged garage to classic rock to Americana.

Hayley Thompson-King - No Room For Jesus. This is what pop ought to be. Wish the whole album was biblically themed garage rock.
