(I'd much rather have a purple one though.

You could get someone to build you one.
If you do, definitely get 'em to socket the clipping diodes.
You'll wanna try LED clipping and/or no clipping.

Earthbound Audio Iron Pig V2 is top mounted and can run at 18v.

Shameless plug
: My Salt Box is based on the vintage spec 250 with added low end like the grey channel and will run at 18v. Top jacks 125B. I use a pot to take out one of the diodes so you can add or subtract clipping as ye please. (pep control).

SIDE NOTE
this week i finally had some decent rehearsals with the new guitar (maybe i'll post it in a proper topic).
i had to re-set every effect in the chain and the OCD sounded even better, so really hope to find something that can give me the same, otherwise rehousing will be the only option.
