Google search produces nothing. Went to TGP <shudders> and found some talk about Eventide may have a new pedal with Rose in the name and that Vernon Reid has been playing a prototype. Pretty fucking lame for a corporate entity to C&D a small company who was first to market and likely won't have any consumer confusion between the two. Don't think I will be pursuing another Eventide product now, not that it matters really, but principles matter to me.Tom Von Kramm wrote:
Ah, where to start? I’ll just dive right in:
Eventide has served us with a Cease and Desist over the word “Rose.” We and our attorney think that their claim is weak but we don’t have the money to fight it. This leaves us with no choice other than to change our name.
We will be transitioning to our new company name over the next few weeks, and the Black Rose Fuzz will get a new name as well. Needless to say this has caused a lot of turmoil and anxiety, but we feel that our sound, aesthetic, vision, and customers, are strong enough to survive the change. Those lucky enough to have gotten one of these first few Black Roses (127) will have a truly limited edition pedal.
I have built out enough Black Rose Fuzzes to use the last of the Rose Pedal etched tops, and they will be available in our store Noon MST Sunday December 16th. They are listed now individually so you can get a peek at the one you want.
We greatly appreciate your continued support and we are excited to keep moving forward!
