The standard mode still sounds pretty bad, but the custom mode is great with the gain at noon or lower. That into a dirty amp with only slight eq adjustments is a perfect tone, but if you move any of the eq beyond just a tiny bit it sounds awful. I'm now expecting someone to do a boutique clone of the custom mode with a better/less extreme tone stack
Yeah it definitely works best with slight tweaks, but that low gain mode rips

Yea, at $229, it's still a steal for what it is and the fact that it's both proper and SDD mode.

Japanese-made pedals don't come cheap, either - so that's adding to the cost, but ...Waza and stuff.

This is pretty cool. I would have it that pretty hard. But I lost interest since I have both a Roland JC and the OBNE chorus. One does classic stereo perfect and the other does weird and extreme just as well.
Good deals: OsbornKT, Phantasmagorovich, UglyCasanova, DarkAxel, Skip, D.o.S, ColdBrightSunlight, Eivind August, Goroth

I always saw the DC-2 as a good chorus pedal for guys like me that are on the fence about getting either a phaser or flanger instead. Depending on the setting and particular clip you check, there's a nice faux univibe thing going on.

I really liked the warm wobblyness of my old CE2, and I've been looking for ages for a good deal on a CE2 waza, but now this DC-2W is giving me GAS all over again

Edit: 229 :?:  I'll just make do with my old BF-2, it supposedly does an okay job mimmick the DC2's first two or three settings :idk:

I have the CE-2W and am still getting the DC-2. Assuming the SDD-320 is as spot on as it sounds in the demos, it's an always-on thing for me when I can run it stereo parallel on a bus - not as an an effect that's noticeable when it's ON but rather when it's not.

Contrary to you, I never owned or even tried a DC-2 or an SDD-320.

The clips make the DC-2 sound like a more intense version of the CE-2, with a little metallic flanger-y quality. That's sorta what I like about it anyway. Too bad the online demos are so pristine and clean. I'm curious what some fuzz would do to that dreamy stereo warble

tho isnt that cause kurt uses a metal zone sometimes

I mean yeah, probably, but the lower gain range does make it a lot more useful as a boost than a stock metalzone.

I sold my CE-2 and DM-2 not that long before the waza versions made the used prices for the originals plummet.
Don't know about you guys, but I'm not waiting around untill the resale value of my FZ-2 and HM-2 gets waza'd :poke:

Which ones do you guys think will be next? PN-2? :idk:

I don't keep any of them for resale value.

I keep them because I like them - should they magically do a HM-2W, I'll buy one and keep the one I have and run them both!

As far as next, hard to say.

I could see a BF-2W or a Waza fuzz of some stripe - whether it's a 2 or a 3 or a Bee Baa or...

I’d be down to clown with one of these as soon as they’re on the used market en masse. The cost is a little more than what I’d want to pay for one. Not to mention I’m not gonna be rocking stereo at this time.

PN-2 would make an awesome Waza. And, I think it's about time for a RV. But, it seems like they wanna stick to analog, for now. So, BF-2W is probably most likely.

DC-2W arrived.

I plugged it in at the end of my stereo master chain.

Set it to SDD-320 #1, and well, I am not ever turning it off.

Is it going to make bleep bloop splat noises we love?

Nope.

But it makes anything, especially stereo, sound like liquid gold.

Wishful thinking:
Boss doing a new parallelle drive pedal(like the JHS-colab), but with Waza FZ-2 and HM-2 instead. ;)
You can have this idea for free Boss/Roland?
