Have you tried using an SRR instead? Maybe even a bitcrusher? I tend to like those more on drums than clipping/dirt, but I'd also go ringmod over dirt for drums so...

I do use ring mods on drum machines, and someone else brought up bitcrushers, but really I need to just splurge and get a Sherman Filterbank 2 + Geiger Pro combo. Then I can regret spending millions of yen on everything else over the previous decade.
