Used to work at Musician's Friend just around the corner from them -- good dudes. I had a few friends laid off from Harman about two years ago so this doesn't really surprise me, but it still sucks.

Yeah guys could you please show a little respect to the big corporation padding it's bottom line at the cost of human labor, I'm sure they're hurting just like the people who no longer have jobs and their families.....

YEAH!
There's a HUGE difference between getting fired and getting laid off.

I mean, one is not having a job suddenly and the other is not having a job...suddenly.

This still sucks.

The new Soundcraft rack stuff is all loaded with Digitech/Lexicon/DBX processing. I suppose all their digital effects are fluid like that now, and there's no need to confine that stuff to pedals if it's strong enough to make other gear sell. Maybe the pedals aren't selling enough? They have been making some really nice stuff, but in doing that, they also entered a tougher, more competitive corner of the market (boutiqueish vs. economy zone). Who knows. :idk:
I must admit, I'm tempted by the idea of a rack interface with a full grip of Digitech effects. I have a very nice batch of digitized Digitech in the RP360 already, it's basically a collection of classic Digitech effects (and awesome new amps))), with a cool pedalboard/rig app.

I can't imagine a bigger difference. Getting fired is your fault for being an ass. Getting laid off is your employer's fault for being an ass. I know no one here means the former so :idk:

The difference is astronomical in terms of how immediately you have a problem. Getting fired for cause doesn't qualify you for unemployment benefits like getting laid of does. Also since this is a mass layoff they should have gotten 60 days notice before their layoffs are effective.
