No doubt. Their stuff did look great. I remember when he first started posting here. That Omen fuzz with the sanded slant enclosure, oh man. Still want to do that.

I recall a lot of issues arising after the Holy Mountain thing. DIdn't ever hear about the following terrible build quality however. Yeesh

It was pretty rough, didnt even sound that good. I just see it as a learning experience, im much more wary of what businesses i patronize now. Tym guitars and Dunwich are my go-tos these days and neither have ever let me down and are both stand up dudes

Good riddance. Dude is a compulsive liar and makes shitty gear. If you search "Midnight Amplification Devices site:ilovefuzz.com" on Google you'll be able to directly access some of the posts about this dickhead from the past few years. Here's mine from April 2015:

I'll tell you what I have anti-GAS for: anything from Midnight Amplification Devices. Dude is deleting posts of dissatisfied buyers from his Shark Tank noting that:

- He takes about four months to send pedals with no communication, and makes excuses instead of just taking responsibility
- Pretty much only sends pedals once you have filed a Paypal dispute
- Lies about when he ships pedals

I guess the only good thing is that of the half dozen ILFers I've been in touch with, everyone gets their shit eventually, it's just like pulling teeth to even get a fucking response. So note that I'm not calling this dude a scam artist or ripoff, just stating he is not being transparent. And in the end who gives a shit, they're just pedals, right?

I don't know Nic personally, maybe he's a great guy in real life. But I think it's pretty disrespectful to take money from people then just leave them hanging, make excuses when called out, and offer them hollow gestures like a discount instead of just owning up to being overwhelmed with orders or whatever the case, while listing new pedals and promising a delivery time of two weeks when others have been waiting four months.

Maybe this is bad form and I am usually pretty drama-averse, but deleting posts of dissatisfied buyers is pretty weak.

And when I called him a liar, I have documentation to back it up i.e. emails from him providing a tracking number (that he also provided to other buyers--the same exact number) and then the actual package with a totally different tracking number. Dude also had so many excuses about his delays to various people that it made him sound like the unluckiest person to ever walk the planet, which is possible, but the more likely scenario is that he's just a fucking flake.

What’s the deal with this dude and his company?

Over a year ago I exchanged emails with Nic and be seemed eager
for me to demo some of his gear. I was totally overloaded at the time so I told him it might be a while.
I sent him an email maybe a few months later and never heard back.
I sent one more a few weeks after that and again, nothing.

Has he vanished permanently? Anyone have any contact with him?

I do remember some of it, not the entire thing. I was a little late to that party.
I’ve read plenty of shit from threads that are still around (ie this one) but have no personal experience with the guy except for 2 emails.
