You are most likely correct but there are ways to impress upon someone the true value of something. I bet you if someone came with a cash offer, they'd take it.

I've had to do negotiating like that on property purchases. Money talks, especially when you decline their offer and walk away for awhile.

I don't get the hate here for the brand - I think they make some really interesting but useable stuff. The Adineko is seriously awesome, and you can get an insane range of sounds out of the Octopussy just using the guitar controls. Some of their other fuzzes are also very good (Fuzzrite, Merkin, Perseus), and they do / did weird stuff like the Bicycle Delay and Heliotrope, not just like transparent overdrives and boosts.

I also have and like the Belle Epoch for percussive tape delay in front of dirt, but I would never pay $300 (or really anything tbh) for a giant EP3 preamp.

I haven't seen any hate beyond some ambivalent mehs about their products.

Most of their line is fairly vanilla compared to other popular ILF brands, but I can't think of a time anyone has talked shit about any of their pedals.

Everything I've played from them has been perfectly fine. Not for me, generally, but I can see why they've had success. They kinda soured me a bit on their biz due to behind-the-scenes BS at old HCFX, however (though nowhere near as much as... others), but I still hope they wind up ok.

I thought the MXR comment could have been a compliment as far as quality? I meant it in terms of how tame the effects are.

Everything I've owned and tried from CB has been super solid. Especially their delays. Some cool experimental stuff too. I hope they manage to straighten things out, even without Howard, which seemed like the coolest cat.

I want to hang out with Howard. As you said, he seems like the coolest cat.

Not super wild but, DLS has been on my main board since I bought it, a couple years ago now I think. Really does help get that dirty base sound to my clean amps, and roars when cranked/stacked

I hadn't heard anything about the QC issues until this thread, though, that's too bad. That Belle Epoch/Dlx sounds great. Is that the only one that has fallen, or everything overall? I really want to grab an Adineko, & there was something else...?
