Seems like the most logical explanation to me... "don't knock it til you've tried it." Maybe plywood is the secret to yer ultimate toanz. Who knows?

I bet if Jimi Hendrix played it we'd all go out and buy one tomorrow.
and if Billy Corgan played it we'd all go about it on the Music forum.

Wow, this has turned into one of those rare topics where our opinions are split about 50/50.

Well I’m not against Gibson or big companies.
I just don’t like that guitar.

But they have caught up with 1970s gunstock technology, so it should be stable in all weather conditions.
Jimmy or Eric may have played that if it was available back in the day.

Technically The ES 125, 175 etc could be called plywood by nit pickers and there is no doubt they are beautiful sounding guitars.

If you like it and it sounds good then who cares what a bunch of dweebs who hang out on the internet all day say.

I'm sure it's a love-it/hate-it guitar.

On top of that, I'm not a huge Gibson fan.

But I want.

I love dano's too but they'd probably sell that same guitar for $400

Danos are plywood frame, masonite top/back, mostly hollow.

I do not want a solid-body plywood guitar.

I would also like it even less if it was tasteless and gaudy.

The pickups are pretty cool though.
