My three are:

High Five Plus
Wolf Computer
The Elements

Between those three, I've been able to get every flavor of fuzz/dirt/drive that I could ever want or imagine. Every time I'm gassing for some flavor-of-the-month dirt pedal I try to get the same tones from these three. Every time I'm able to recreate the tones from the flavor of the month dirt pedal.

Fat Fuzz Factory
Mini

That's what I use. I get everything I want out of them.

Also have a Big Muff in case it comes in handy. Pretty much never does.

I have a regular Fuzz Factory. I would have suggested that but does not fit the cheap realm. Not sure of difference between that and fat Fuzz?

Oh, I definitely don't need it to be cheap. I'm broke right now but I'm willing to spend money if I have it.

I need to check out some Fuzz Factory demos. I've only heard it talked about as a crazy noisemaker. How big a difference does the Fat one make? What if I don't need a ton of bass, just huge mids?

This could easily be my alternative setup. I've already decided I'll replace the wolf computer with a fat fuzz factory if I can't get it fixed in the future.

Yeah it's way too expensive, but I snagged a cheap vexter for $100 and Vex modded it to Fat standards for another $50. It makes a big difference, but it has tons of bite and mids when left in the nin 'fat' positions.

It has no EQ, which is why I put it before the Mini. Together there a lot of starve-y, gnarly stuff to be has. And lots of oscillations.

driving notion

With Driving Notion you just have to embrace the clang. Try with Jaguar using low-cut switch on the bridge pickup for maximum obnoxiousness

How does the gate work with the oscillations? Does it stop it from oscillating between notes?

I have the vexter too. Apparently their is LITERALLY no difference between that and the more expensive hand painted one.
I do like it but I think even $150 is a bit steep for it. Glad you got yours cheaper. Neon, if you go the Fuzz factory route get a much cheaper clone. Dminner just had a Woolley mammoth for $60 or something crazy low (I would have got it but I just spent my entire pedal budget for the rest of my life a couple weeks ago).

My favorite Fuzz/Crunch is my DIRGE modded Shoegazer (Moosegazer). Evan added a Noise mod and the thing goes out of control in a fun and usable (beyond straight up cacophony) way.

Yep! Super controllable. But also wild enough to be fun.

Of all the fuzzes I've tried, my top three dirts right now would be

Darkglass Duality
DSM Noisemaker Drive Maker (this thing is a FUCKING BEAST)
Prescription Electronics Depth Charge or clone (which I have one that's amazing)

I have more that are awesome or have tried other that are great, but these do just about everything I need or want.

Baremountain's two pedals are sounding really good to me.
