Anyone have an interesting clip/song made with the Alesis SR-16 or a similar drum machine? Yamaha, Roland, etc...

I'm trying to not sell mine but I can't seriously do anything that doesn't sound Godflesh-ish or 80s hip hop, so mainly looking for something that wows me and maybe inspire me a bit.

No recordings handy, but the SR-16 is great for circuit bending. Connect the legs of the ROM chips to switches or a patch bay. You can also replace the timer with an LTC1799 oscillator & pot for manual pitch control. That would open up a lot of interesting sound possibilities.

Edit: accidentally left out the oscillator bit. Don't just solder a pot there. Hah! You can get them at getlofi.com or circuitbenders.co.uk

Depends which revision you have. Some are SMD, some are through-hole. The SMDs are supposedly more stable.

I clarified my post above too.

For a second I thought this was an announcement of a Dwarfcraft drum machine and I got REALLY excited. Then I realized that's not the deal and I got disappointed, but the video was still really cool. Now I really want to get more of Aen's pedals.

I'm going to run my Volca Beats through everything I've got one of these days.

We might have something for you later this year, if all goes well, Peter.

Research is being done. Drum machines are being fucked with. Sample ideas are being created.

But now I really want a GCpro, even though I have almost no need for one.
