Guess they've done the Slicer and Looper, too.
I was hoping for some pics by the OP, but these are neat too!

Did mine. I did it pretty fast. I like the edges on Tremulant's better. I may fine tune it. Took about 10 minutes.

Nice work. I use that space for an expression knob to control the mix on the looper. Trimming the extra off the front doesn't save me too much pedalboard space on my current board, I couldn't fit an extra pedal on there because of it. I'd be more inclined to rehouse the hole thing in a taller box, so the basic size of the PCB with new foot switches floating above the board. Might even take out the knobs.

Woah, haha man that's awesome! I remember the initial lines on the sides took not long at all - it was getting around it's fangs without bending the hacksaw / maintaining a straight line that took the bulk of the time in my case

Side note my hack saw finally did break right near the end of me cutting the bottom plate, the peninsula was dangling by just enough to bend / break off

Well fuck. I'm gonna do my DL4 and MM4 when I get home.

Been toying with the idea of getting the filter as well. Would be pretty cool to hack up all three and repaint em all the same color. Then beat the finishes up so the OG color shows through in places. Like a strange post apocalyptic modeling board.

Would be a fun way to have an excuse to fill up the extra board I have and finally buy an AC PSU.

Yeah, the way the the pots are mounted you have to take them off if you want the switches to be above the PCB. But the way the current DL-4 chassis is laid out, the switches already do that. I had mentioned I made a custom enclosure for a rehouse - pictured below. The enclosure didn't end up being that smaller cause the PCB is pretty big as it is.

I have made a few and sold them. I missed it so I built another. Plus I finally got a chance to look at an Analog Man modded DD-5 to see how the high-cut mod works because all the info on the web was wrong about it - DD-3 way won't work on the DD-5. Some guy on Reverb.com contacted me asking if I'd rehouse his AM modded' DD-5 so I jumped at the opportunity.

This one is a little different cause I added the high-cut mod to this one and I also came up with an additional mod to change the between Level controls - in addition to the Mode Select mod. So the upper right footswitch changes between the stock and added Mode/Level controls.

How annoying was the dl4 rehouse?
Ehh. I mean I made the enclosure from plexiglass, had to desolder all the pots and solder new ones with wire. I sold it cause I wasn't using it, but then I always buy another DL-4 eventually cause the looper is the best.

It was a fun project and looked cool but in terms of size reduction it wasn't that much cause the PCB is pretty much the size of the enclosure, meaning you can only make the new enclosure as small as the PCB which isn't that small.

Looking the the way this "hack" turned out to the stock enclosure, the sides of the stock Dl-4 enclosure may be a little wider - with those wing/side grill things - but not by that much. So to me, a rehouse to try and save space isn't really worth it or won't really make much of a difference. If you want to do it just for the sake of doing it/want a new look: take a crack at it.

ask and ye shall receive :)

this last one would show the size reduction of the dl4 to that realistic mixer - the realistic is a little smaller but it's way taller, kind of unanimously making it a top row pedal if someone were that ambitious
