I've always liked the Distortion+ despite it's lack of output. I always figured it's the germanium transistors vs. the DOD 250s silicon transistors that give it that smooth attack and decay which is why I always see people use them on synths.

I recently got one of these in similar age/condition - even missing a screw - but for about a third of the price. I really really love it, and I'm gonna mod it to make it more pedalboard friendly (power input, light). I also want to add an extra bass option and diode selector for volume. I think with all that done, I'll have a killer OD pedal for about £50.
