Without the octave you get a nice scooped Muffy sound

I've never tried either of those circuits, but I feel like Tonebenders are more accessible that Buzzarounds/Dizzy Tones. Like, all the clones of them costs quite a bit, but they look really really GAS-worthy. Any specific builds you recommend?

Blunderbuss! I'll look into it, I've been wanting one of those before. Now I'm really digging into these more obscure circuits though, but if all else fails I might snatch it.

It kinda looks like I'm gonna go for one expensive+one cheaper pedal now. Probably gonna put down the dough for the fredric FY-2/6 because it looks so damn pretty

I have an Analog Man Sun Bender, which is a Mark 1.5 circuit. Super nasty/cutting, really aggressive. It sounds best IMO with the guitar volume dialed back between .5 and 1 number. Doesn't have the range of tones down the volume knob as a FF, but nonetheless pretty versatile pedal.

Also have a Basic Audio Scarab Deluxe, which is I believe a MKIII variation. Tamer but still pretty ballsy, lots of versatility.

For germ stuff in general, this video is really interesting/informative. I like Joe Gore quite a bit:

I'm not completely sure what you want to do and what you're going for, but these fuzz pedals are the ones that really spoke to me so far.

There's a fella out of Ireland building "Super Electric" Tonebenders which are exceptional, not quite being D*A*M and Sola Sound, Pigdog & Castledine...even Skinpimp builds but he knows what he's doing/tuning and for fair prices. Lumpy's Tone Shop, too

I plan on grabbing one of these myself:

This list is awesome! Thanks a bunch. I don't know how I liked the jext telez dizzy. Def think the Ghost FX buzzaround sounded better. But I see everywhere that the circuits are really similar...

I had a look at super electric. Really reasonable price and free shipping. Splendid suggestion. I saw that there was an option to not have 9v in and no LED, haha what's up with that? sounds like wankery to me, but I don't know shit.

Kinda what I figured with the Jext Dizzy. Not sure if it's my main GAS right now though..

Yeah 9v power jack & led are options for Super Electric Tonebenders.
The original circuits include neither, some people prefer it that way, myself being one of them.
Bare bones versions are also less expensive...and I prefer to begin with OEM specs before trying modded versions of a pedal.
Feel like it gives me a better reference point and origin for comparison, foundation to build upon.

Oh, then I guess it kinda makes sense to me too. I don't really care about vintage correctness and stuff, but I understand folks who do.

For me, in this case it's less about being vintage correct as it is experiencing a product as it was designed/functional as intended.
But yeah, that's part of it.
These circuits are simple, maybe a dozen components. So anything you add or change is going to have some influence on the performance.
Use of 9v power supply raises the noise floor, addition of a led increases drain on the battery [not by much] and may affect sonics...but they hurt my eyes more than anything

Aha I see. I just have a hard time grasping that a measly LED would make that much difference though. I do understand that power supplies have the risk of being noisier, buI'll probably only run the four pedals on a single daisy anyways
