This was my first thought too. So $1250 + the cost of all new cabs capable of handling that much wattage = not in my immediate future. Stoked someone else is working with solid state though.
Smart money says Verellen hasn't designed a solid state power section but is using a 3rd party's OEM drop in solution, an ICE class D power module, which have become ubiquitous. Nowadays "working with solid state" is mostly about speccing the DSP on your ICE module. I'm not knocking this amp in any way. In fact if he built a Meatsmoke with similar topology I might hop on board, maybe that's in the works already?
Says customizable preamp so just have him drop the Meatsmoke pre in there.

Good call! I'm actually keeping an eye out for a used Meatsmoke preamp rack mount version. I have a good power amp already.

And ordered!!!!! Added a pre amp in at the back to add my own pre's and use the power of the Kalaloch. Perfect Ying to the Meatsmoke Yang

Also considering a set of Barefaced twins!!!??? Got the amp ordered. Gotta save for the cabs

Hmmm.... I really want a third amp to run both channels to that can keep clean compared to my two dirty tube amps... Plus the wattage is very enticing...

This thing was amazing to hear in real life. The Meatsmoke was my fav, but this was a close second.

We had this running through his cab (I think it was 2x12?) and the other channel running through a 4x10 and it was magical.

Reviving this thread, if that's okay.

Has anyone actually gotten one of these? I'm super curious - was considering getting one with a Meatsmoke pre thrown in...

ryan from fuzzrocious has one and he posts here (only in the fuzzrocious subforum).

I have one and LOVE LOVE LOVE it.
I had a Mesa BB750 hybrid before this, which I sold as soon as this one was plugged in, and haven't looked back.
It's lightweight and beautiful. Ben Verellen's work and customer service is excellent. The sound is big, clean, and loud. The EQ is simple and doesn't boom.

The downside is that I don't have the $$$ to have two cabs built to run this in stereo, which is how this sucker is meant to be run.

Heavily considering this to replace the heads in my stereo rig. Does anyone know if his JCM 800 preamp is as high gain as a Peavey Butcher? Also does he have a low gain V4 esque preamp option?

Ben can mod the preamp. It's worth asking him!
