Apparently when the painter finished the body it had some orange peel to it, so Chris is making the guy redo it. But it is shit hot

Seriously. The body and guard shape are the sex, and I was really iffy on the choice of red, but holy woah. Will the guard stay unfinished?

Yeah I'm thinking I want to keep it brushed. I think polished would look too gaudy
Also went ahead and bought the staggered reverse headstock Sperzels today, so all that is left is the pickups, 5 way switch and Jack I think!

Totally totally. Recently I've been dreaming of this body shape with brushed finish, brown tort guard, and a solid rosewood neck. Very very unhealthy thoughts...

Ordered the neck two weeks ago, so hopefully that means that it'll ship in another two weeks. Apparently need to keep a look out for a different supplier of Sperzels because the supplier I ordered from was apparently out of stock.
The body should hopefully be shipping out soon. Currently do not have money for pickups so it's going to sit for a little while

You should check out BLK TRI pickups. I remember you saying you can't play with pickups that aren't super high output and that they are. I'm planning on getting a set for my baritone build.

I thought about investigating them a little bit. Seems like they play well with dirt and dirty amps. Was going to do Alumitones cause they are SO full range like EGC pickups but if they have something convincing I might go after. I need tapable Humbuckers

He's a really cool dude and is all about answering questions and talking about custom work. I'm pretty sure I'm getting a Black Knight Satellite (single coil) for the neck and either his humbucker sized p90 or one of his less-hot humbuckers for the bridge.

But orange peel does buff out. Especially with a pastel color paint job. The painter just should of buffed it in the first place though.

It is going to be a nice guitar though.

Yeah it ended up that he's not going to refinish it, and honestly I'm fine with it, it looks good to me, and it's going to be played, so I don't have a problem with it

(Re)secured tuners (the first set I bought was apparently sold out from the source, but they got them back in stock so I reordered), and picked up one of the Alumitones. Just need to pick up the other Alumitone and some other miscellaneous things.

Wow! And it will look better with your neck.
Can't wait to see the final result.
