So how do you like the Rat with the Space Echo? I think I could get by with those two pedals alone.

we shall see tonight at practice, but at home its been really good. the rat is different than im used to as far as overdrive. i usually use a tubescreamer type overdrive or boost to beat my amp into distorting, but the rat is just such a cool sounding distortion into a pretty loud clean amp, and pairing that with reverb and the space echo cant go wrong.

i actually think i could play a show with just those two pedals and my volume knob. maybe ill try that at practice.

How is it that nobody has built a Rat-based pedal and called it the RATATTACK? I mean, c'mon people!

I was at my local shop last night, looking at all of the pretty pedals, and they recently started carrying Fuzzrocious - they have both Rat Tails and Rat Kings in stock. I should try one out sometime...

I bought like my 100000th Rat today. Not getting rid of this one. I keep flipping them and I don't know why (oh wait I need to pay for other stuff)
But this one is perfect. It has all my favorite elements of the Rat.
Only 3 knobs (Fuck Ruetz)
3-way clipper switcher
LM308
Regular 9v jack
And most importantly:
Rat 2 enclosure. My favorite as far as real estate and aesthetics go.

It doesn't get better than a Rat.

to be clear, my rat DOES NOT have the LM308. and it never will. sounds amazing.

I find that my Mini gets some ratty sounds on occasion.

Yeah, I had the same exact Rat myself. OPO7 or whatever probably. Didn't matter, sounded like a Rat.

I have been messing around with my rat into a black Russian muff with the distortion and sustain set low on each into a Traynor YGL-1 combo dimed out. The amp gets to classic rock/butt rock clean on its own but the rat and muff turn it into a tiny menacing thing. It sounds great to me and I love it.

I bought my rat solely because I thought I'd do the Ruetz mod to it, tried a Ruetz modded rat and I am ambivalent now. I need one with a toggle for Ruetz and bass boost, might get a Rat/Cat Tail later in life.

a Dirge Turbo RAT I bought in the BS&T a while back just made its way onto my current board. I don't know much about it other than I don't see it going anywhere. I love it for the high gain sustain for days, especially stacked with a barbershop OD. Love the Yo La Tengo two RAT approach. Gotta try it one day.
