Just barely under $200, but you could probably make an offer...

Freq Analyzer all day, err day. I love the shit out of it.

I originally tried a big box 90s one, and ended up with the small box 40v one from the 2000s. I actually think the low filter on the small box one sounds a bit beefier, so you can get some sick bass out of it. If that's the kind of thing you'd be into.

The DOD Gonkulator reissue can be had for well under $200. Not super versatile but deliciously dirty. Love mine on bass. :!!!:

Having owned a Moog for many years, a Paia before that, and having built various xfmr/diode matrix ring mods for friends, I always recommend the EH Ring Thing, which regularly show up under $200 used.

The Moog probably sounds a little better, especially if you are working squeaky clean or using it for synths, but if you are using any dirt (amp or pedal) at all the difference is negligible for guitar use(IMO, of course).

Plus, the Ring Thing has presets. I use a ring mod for more than one song and not having to tune the carrier during a set is nice.

On top of that, it can be instantly turned by playing the note you want and holding down the left button. Keep holding the button down while you play and it glitches like crazy.

It just dawned on me, this sounds like we're on Jeopardy:

"I'll take 'Ring Mods Under $200', please, Alex."

^^^This. I've even tried to tune a Ring Thing to closely get there as closely as possible. The latter does miss the sweet low end filtering that happens with the former, tho it has a lot more going for it, too. Although the ring mod algorithm or whatever in the MM4 is pretty good too.
