No, you need 2 200 watt heads
End of thread, you can all go home now.

Well glad that's all cleared up then.

Totally unrelated to the thread, but have you run your V4 and 400rb in stereo for bass or guitar? Because that's a rig I've been considering for bass vi

You could always do as someone else has suggested and get a crown/qsc/carver type power amp and run a line out/slave out to it from one of your heads. That's an easy way to get waaaaay more than 200 watts.

Blue Line SVT + DR201 + 4(4x12) + 4(4x15)
I'd say something, but your avatar seemed most appropriate, so...^

I have not. Never even crossed my mind but damn that's a good idea. I'd give it a try but I only have one bass cab and I'm not about to play bass through either of my guitar cabs.

Man, if SVTs were built a little better I would have kept mine and still ordered a Mother this year.

4 holer or classic?
My 4 holers are as reliable as anvils.
My classics were fucking trash though.

CLs are pretty bad in general but my VR was just a mess. My reaction when I pulled the chassis to do the AC relay bypass mod was the same as Doc Brown's in Back to the Future when the model car sets a trash heap on fire in his lab. Just utter shock, horror, and disappointment that I spent the money on the amp. It was basically a rat's nest of wires and most of the automotive connectors had cracked already.

bum deal dude my 69s are bombproof.
so I melted a hole in a 6550, even my tech was completely baffled
new sovtek 6550s in that pig and its been hiccup free..... except every now and then it sounds possessed.... but a quick smack and shes back inline....
figures my un molested one with NOS ge 6550s doesn't make any weird noises

(with over 1k in vintage glass alone it better not make noises)
but yeah my modern ampegs were trash. literally a 0% survivability rate, and I know what im doing with tube amps and ohms.....

in fact all my modern amps have been crushed by uncle whiskey.
fuking pussies.

Yeah whisk that's been my experience too, minus the verellen. Getting a great old school constructed head and then fixing it up just provides a more robust design. Think of it as the frame on a car. Built like tanks in the 60's, built like tinfoil today.
Our other Guitarist has a modern marshall and while yeah, you can get good sounds out of it, it doesn't make it easy and I can't wait for that fucking thing to catch on fire.

Any amp I've ever owned made after the mid 90s has failed or blown up on me all by itself. I don't touch reissue amps anymore or anything that's priced twice as high as it should be for the name *cough*Ampeg/Orange/Marshall*cough*

I bought a West Fillmore. 200 watts and as simple as an amp should be.

Ursula stuart is selling a sunn 2000s, that'll get close to 200 I think. She wants 1200 for it though.
