1. Production was better. It was a little choppy and all over the place. I've understood that you're already aware of this and that you're sorting it out, which is great.
2. The pedals were stranger. BitQuest, Judder, Glitch, Possessed, Rattlecrow, Miku, Kompakt Kassette, Utter Stutter etc.
3. The personalities were more interesting (or showcased better). I'm really trying not to be a dick, but that guys was a little too much of a parody of himself (to my liking).
4. You combined strange pedals or messed up the "normal order".
5. You have them play strange instruments, maybe? Vocals through the pedals. Kalimbas with pickups. Drum machines.
I don't know, just throwing out some ideas. I'm not going to say that I enjoyed this one too much, but it has potential. Looking forward to seeing how it evolves.
Aside from the voice audio, we're quite happy with the production quality. It's not a Kubrick piece, but we put much more effort than using a Zoom cam or a cellphone. But that might be kind of sweet to film it really poorly and cut into miscellaneous blips of b-roll in the backround. Haha
We chose the Dizzy Tone because it is actually a pretty weird pedal, especially since it came out in the 60's by some Italian dude but sounds like something ZVEX or Spaceman made today. Also, we're from metro-Detroit and are close friends with Bob Ebeling who runs Jext Telez so we wanted to showcase our bud and give him props on doing such a faithful reissue of a highly sought after pedal. I mean, there's a Pete Thorn demo out there for it, but honestly, are the guys watching Pete Thorn's demo's really gonna buy a pedal like this?
Our next demo will feature two Mantic pedals and a local studio engineer demo-ing them. A completely different personality from Episode 1. He's more of a smartass type. I guess it's really difficult to find Jeremy to be believable if you don't know him personally. He's like that 24-7 and myself and most who know him, find him to be extremely engaging and lovable. I think within the stoner demographic, there are multiple personalities to explore. Jeremy is not for everyone and that's totally okay because the next guy's "vision" of what the pedal is, might be and so on.
In terms of instruments, omnichords, kalimbas, bass, guitar, synths, modded out speak and spells, etc... are all available to the demo-er. Whatever they choose is up to them.
It will take a few episodes for it to get it's legs, no doubt. Just remember this is all in good fun. Thanks again for all the feedback!
