I'm also in love with the Pains of Being Pure At Heart LP, it's more Smiths-like than My Bloddy Valentine though, but still shoegaze. :omg:

I mean if you listen to older MBV, the "lesser" known stuff, like The New Record by MBV, Ecstasy, Strawberry Wine, or Sunny Sundae Smile you'll see that the pains of being pure at heart are obviously *REALLY* into those records *ALOT* but then again those records sound like pages right out of Dan Treacy's book....

I haven't heard the new horrors, but i really really didn't like anything i've heard from them :idk: i guess i'll give this one another go for 'em! :thumb:

You really should! Don't worry about what they used to sound like, they might as well be a different band. :thumb:

Pains of Being Pure of Heart are good. They like this band a lot.

I believe the guitarist for them produced their record.

I think Pains sounds alot like some Field Mice as well.

How about MY band too!....if you haven't heard us..... :whateva:

Black Tambourine. I LOVE THEM. ALOT.

And yeah, when i first heard TPOBPAH i was like BLACK TAMBOURINE MUCH?!

i can totally see the field mice too. I main they just sound like fuzzed out twee pop. Bottom line: Great band.

I emailed them my freshman year of college because they were playing a 21+ show and i wanted to get in, and i was 19. Obviously, it didn't work, and i STILL haven't seen them t this day. :grumpy:

Also, Communarchy i dig your band, it's very reminiscent of new Asobi Seksu. Blissed out and taken to the fair. :thumb:

new Asobi Seksu? Citrus or do they have a newer one?

They have a new one called Hush. It's easily, by far their best work to date. I strongly recommend it, probably my number one record of the year so far

Also, that LSD & The Search for God record. OMFG

I was super into AMPOF for a while. they have some really awesome shit.

And musically the Horrors new record is phenomenal, but i can't listen to his voice. Oh my god it's like nails to a chalkboard. :(

I hadn't listened to Asobi Seksu yet. The name of the band is pretty funny    . In japanese, asobi seksu can be translated as playful sex.

I was gonna say, I like it. But they need to turn down the Joy Division knobs on their amps down. Ironic huh Kaleb?

I heard Hush was more straight forward indie rock than gaze. True?

I wouldn't say so. It's really really blissed out. It's way less guitar shoegazey if thats what you mean, but it's still blissed out as fuck. Beautiful album. I prefer it to citrus. Much more there own sound.
