I had a Peavey transtube combo for a while. Mine had a T-Dynamics control that helped bring the amp alive when it was up. Most stuff sounded pretty bland without it. I also used a lot of the Lead channel, which was the blandest of the 3 available, but was what I needed because of the amount of distortion. The clean channel was really slick, but I would've liked it better with a gain knob, just for a touch of grit. If you're not using the clean channel, do it. If you are and you don't have a T-Dynamics knob, then

Yea, that's way high, but the doom crowd pushed the Sunn stuff to the stratosphere.
At 450, I'd run. That said, the footswitch if original is probably worth a hundred of that. It's a two-button terminates in two RCA jacks and adapter to 1/4" plex-style switches didn't work.

Its been on craigslist for over a year he originally wanted $475. I offered $375 awhile back and he was firm. Definitely not much out there about these, but I do know of a couple of them in the wild with a single 15" out of the factory. Pretty sure the first solos had an option for 15" or a 2x12 configuration and may have rolled over into the solos II production as those were only made for a year after some reading on the sunn forum.
Was completely unaware of the distortion, I almost want to try it out now.

It's nasty and nasal and unusable by mortal man.
In other words, was perfect for what I needed it for, as a "kill" button.

Cool thanks for the pep talk, probably not for me. I'm pretty traditional rat>muff>ampeg v2 sounds like hot sex to my ears.

Yea, stay away if you want Ampeg.
I do not like the Ampeg tonestack or overall voicing sound at all.
The Sunn is pure Fender knockoff.
