If there's no bypass or "switch effect off" in the program of a particular unit, make a patch that is simply unity gain - like a lowest possible delay time setting, minimum mix, minimum feedback or verb on same, etc. Have switcher go to that patch on demand, boom, you have effect off!

still working on this one, since i now have to go midi controler to get everything working on the rack i thought I would just do a board and mount it to that. still needs wiring and another power source, but here is what i have so far...

Anyone have any experience of the Microverb III?
Obviously if you were going the Shoegazey Reverse Reverb route, you'd go for the Midiverb II etc., but one of these has popped up cheap and I was wondering how it compared!

How do you like the Boss Slicer? It seems really cool, but I'm on the fence with every video I watch for how useful it actually can be.finboy wrote:still working on this one, since i now have to go midi controler to get everything working on the rack i thought I would just do a board and mount it to that. still needs wiring and another power source, but here is what i have so far...

Listen to HEALTH's album GET COLOR, the slicer is all over it. Also it's way better/more fun in stereo than it is in mono.

The slicer is good enough that I bought a second when it came up, I scored both for under $80!
It is HARD to find a good demo, but if you scour youtube you can get a good idea of what it does.
Edit:
Here are some shitty iphone videos of how I have used it

I'll definitely watch those videos later, thanks!
Been thinking of buying a second bass rig to run my bass stereo. Definitely like the idea of ping-ponging slicing effects.

Just want to say I'm diving in this rack unit thing because the Midiverb II hasn't moved yet and there is a Korg DRV-1000. I don't have a rack yet but I think I'll just stack the units on my amp until a time comes. I'm not even going to gaze, I just want those Alice in Chains bass tones with some reverse verb.

Slicer sounds so cool when other people use it but I just seem to make it sound shitty.

Slicer you have to spend a LOT of time with to make it sound good and work with you.
