Are those actually worth the hype?

I loved how terrifying the Second Voice Deluxe looked, it made everybody go bonkers. Too bad it was pretty weak imho.
No $400 dirt pedal is worth the hype.
Might not be worth the hype but the two I own are worth their price. The wow Is a really cool sounding fuzz with a built in tremolo that gets into unique territory. The Sputnik is one of the most musical oscillating fuzz pedals I own and I own a lot. It's really unique and the build quality is second to none. I don't like their business model of only building small batch limited run pedals cause that creates demand and high prices but the two i own are unique designs that don't sound like any other pedal. Unfortunately you have to pay to play.

I'm going to have to agree all the way. Early on, I thought the Effector 13 stuff was really cool looking. But the LAL and moog stuff is just awesome looking to me (and some of the masf)

I've had the Gemini III, Mercury III, Aphelion, WOW Signal and Saturn Drive. Customer service & build quality is top notch, as are the sounds in the boxes. Zak (at Spaceman) does create some well-engineered fx and his design aesthetic is equally sharp.
If I were into catching them all (like UG :snax:) then I'd still own all 5; but I did ultimately move them all along for various reasons (changed amp platforms, couldn't justify letting them sit in drawers when demand was so high, overlap purges, bartering chips to acquire other rare gear etc)
Few pedals are worth the hype, and when one is...it's usually a DMM :hobbes:

Remember seeing this one on Jeff Irwin of Willhavens' board back in the day. The Rick Graham woman tone, lmao.

They were always trying to sell those a while back. No one ever picked 'em up/wanted 'em that I heard of. They should of just used the lady from "Top Secret"...would have sold better.

I always thought the old big box clone theory from EHX was cool looking.
