I actually do like black sabbath and sleep. I was trying to get a drunken rise out of you all.

This thread needs to be renamed "Listening to Pink Floyd vs Genital Mutilation".

You don't like Dark Side of the Moon?
What about it don't you like?

But the real heresy would lie in whether or not you like Saucer Full of Secrets or Meddle because you find it boring.

Early Floyd isn't boring and they sound good, but they're one of those bands that I just don't relate to the way I should. Piper at the Gates of Dawn/Saucerful, etc, I listen to and say that it's great stuff, I should like it. As time went on they got super boring and dour, though. I can't see the appeal of DSM at all. Apparently there have been others throughout history who disagreed with me.

Of course, no one is denying the fact that there are probably many people that don't link Pink Floyd. I think Dark Side of the Moon was great though. But I agree later on they got carried away and started sounding a bit too accessible.

.

I have Space Ritual in my car (the only place I regularly listen to CDs). Cautionary dad speech given to my 13-year-old singer/guitar player daughter while listening to Hawkwind in the car: "One of the lesser-known effects of drug abuse is that it impairs the part of your brain that knows when to end the damn song."

I like it anyway, though
