needs more fuzz
/sarcasm

2nd and 3rd worth a few more listens, but 1st and 4th are plain boring and sound like shit. Being a huge fan of their old stuff (and I even liked Yanqui UXO) I'm disapointed, but I understand they need some moneyz.

One would assume they'd be courting the festival circuit if they needed the money.

Coachella 2012 and lots of world tours (fests included)... Which I have to thank because I was able to see them twice in the last 3 years or so, and I would probably see them again, they perform very good in live, as most of the canadian rock bands.

BTW http://www.last.fm/music/Godspeed+You!+ ... or/+events (optional) ctr+f and type "fest"

I just meant that if you're looking to make money with music and you have a cache like they do, you're not putting down the cash to put out albums everyone's going to steal anyway.

I still haven't had a chance to listen to this all the way through, but the bits I've heard, I like.

Man, I love the progression on the first track. I don't hear what you man by boring, there's a lot of growth of riffs. I've got it stuck in my head multiple times since first hearing it. Alas, to each there own.

i don't think it touches their earlier material but to call the new tracks boring is kinda silly to me. "each their own"

I love the sound of the guitars. They just sound so thick and juicy and organic and meaty, even better than the tones on Allelujah.
