Quiet is a matter of how old is the tape, heads clean, tension on the felt, etc.

There's a lot of stuff one can do to get it more pronounced (and the first head is an extreme slapback only).

Echo volume squinting at the dials is a bit low as well.

It will go 100% wet (use the second output) for PA use or weird freakouts etc.

Brandsmannen , Mark of the Beast this thread loves you too, mates

So today we got Unicord Uni-Fuzz U-250 from the funky 70s , when you look at it - it says "hey, who`s gonna play some funk"

The only fuzz that doesn`t eat battery, 110v AC only lol
it also has no switch button, you need standalone footswitch to turn it on . Sounds a bit more dirty and muddy than univox superfuzz, got less octave up sound, but still cool toy.

p.s. I bet you`ve never seen dude playing champan`s stick into roland space echo RE-201, check it out

So, basically it got big muff scheme and sounds like that. That holes were drilled by the previous owner`s kid, that`s the reason I got it for cheap :joy:

So it has the civil war russian big muff circuit inside. I don`t know how close it sounds to the original, cuz I don`t own original civil war big muff. But it sounds a bit different to my green russian big muff bubble font.

Yep it is an octavia type fuzz , not fy-6 superfuzz scheme. The 1st mode with yellow LED is a standard octaveup effect, the 2nd doest 2 octaves up. Got 4 internal trimpots, two per mode. Gain trimpot affects sustain only, Drive trim affects level of overdrive. The 1st mode is gorgeous love it, it does that classic sound. The 2nd is aggressive and spitty. Really cool toy with awesome look. :)*

I fucking love the 2nd mode of the Johnny Octave. I wish there was a normal-format pedal with trimpots switched to the outside that could do that sound -- never found one, been through hundreds.

Yep this is the same nasty old crap - superfuzz but by another japan label. It is almost dead , works occasianally. Don`t try it, kids

Great thread.

I've had a love-hate things with ZVex fuzzes. Love them when you're in the sweet spot, hate how hissy/spitty they can be when you are not.

That Uni-Fuzz sounded so syrupy and super thick with the power chords. Probably my fave demo so far...
