Ok Syl, buy a Fairfield Accountant. It's the right colour too.
Accountant>Cosmi>Midfi Overdrive = win.

Here's the closest I can come to that signal chain:

believe it or not, the Behringer Ultra Vibrato is pretty great. pair that with an EQ & a looper, and you can get pretty close.
I use the UV300 more often than the ILFJ. I did a slow mod to the UV300 and now it's real slow and sounds as good as can be
it's so cheap. going to try it. what is the slow mod?

edit:nevermind, figured it out :joy:

So cheap.

You just throw a capacitor or two in parallel

Here's some info

http://www.paulinthelab.com/2012/10/beh ... -down.html

http://www.thegearpage.net/board/showth ... p?t=547140

I ended up just putting a capacitor in parallel with C15. Waveform starts to get a little funky on the lower range of the pot, but I can go as slow as I wanted to go at around 10 or 11 oclock with the original essence intact. I forget the exact cap value I used, but I made it so I could replace the capacitor easily without muckin about in the surface mount area again.

For vibrato, I use a modded older Small Clone. Kill dry warbly slightly asymmetrical slightly muffled hot and soupy vibrato with a much larger range on the rate knob than any other vibrato I've tried.
Also dig the Accountant

I had one, yea it can, but there weren't a lot of subtle sounds on the pitch pirate. the depth knob goes from usable to sea sick at like 10 o clock. all in all, I thought it was only ok.

ok thanks. thats what i was afraid of. i've heard that the deluxe pitch pirate can go subtler? (and also crazier?)

any other rec's for similarly wonky warble pedals? (not the warped vinyl, cuz i'm not that rich)

To be fair the pitch pirate can bend the pitch over one and a half octaves, so it's going to be difficult to get a good taper on the pot.

The pitch pirate is completely bonkers and i wouldn't put it in the same category as the Instant lo-fi junky.

Thanks Sparrow!

Yeah, the settings on the Cosmi are marked by the stars. As they are in the vid, the knobs make no sense. My daughter was crawling on my pedalboard earlier in the day...

Lovely sounds! I've gotta try the comp-vibe-fuck chain, that sounded rad as hell.

Thank you for convincing me I don't need an instant lo fi junky.

cool video goroth! good tones, you know I don't think I ever put the mix knob all the way wet on the cosmi haha.

Shermy I have a polytope now and I really like it. I've gone through a lot of the popular chorus/vibe pedals people like on here, and I think it's up there for sure. It seemed the least sterile to me, maybe I just like the filtering on it or something.
