I mean, there's trashy/dirty, and then there this. Way too scratchy and shrill, close to the tone I started out with 20 years ago. Little Gorilla combo with a ripped up speaker, and a ds-1 with a dead battery. No offence, to each their own I guess
It did make me notice a little thing called the 'Velcrobot' though. I need another fuzz as much as I need an asshole on my elbow, but goddamn do I WANT IT
...The velcrobot that is.

There was supposed to be a video but I dont know what the camera did and I ended up with a 28 minutes of what seems to be slightly slower motion.
Also sorry for the stupid buzzing I dont know whats up with the mic today.
Ibanez Jet king II -> SS/BS Mini -> Dr Scientist Reverberator -> Fender Twin Reverb

I'll see if I can do a demo of the arc flash and the mini. Yes, the arch flash can get trashy but it is a godly overdrive that definitely gets into mini territory. Will hopefully do it on the weekend.

Just got a Mini as part of a sale/trade for one of my basses!!!
I've wanted one for a long time, but I blame this thread for making me have to get one IMMEDIATELY.
In other words, thank you.

I'm pretty sure it's overdriven jfets, so no. Feel wise, I get that guess. Clip didn't sound unlike the Tornita, which is a modified FF that sounds faintly amp-like for what still sounds pretty FF.
I could swear I asked Brian and he said yeah it was based on the fuzz face...with an added preamp?

I flipped a Fuck for the Fuck Mountain which is a Mini+Mountain Range. Also have a TAFM. Makes my Nord Electro sound big and warm or horribly ferocious. I'm not a ssbs fanboy but they are the best od/fuzzes for my keyboards.

I think that's the TAFM.

Yeah I can't remember, or find the post. That would mean the fuck od was based on the fuzz face too. I believe I saw four transistors in my TAFM, and the fuzz face uses two I think...I don't know if that proves anything.

Yeah I'm 100% sure the TAFM is a based on the fuzz face but highly highly modified
Also have never heard that the fuck/mini is based on the fuzz face, I could be wrong but I'm fairly sure it's not
Regardless they all sound great

truth. I've been getting to know my v2 tafm, and have had a fuck od as a go to pedal for a long time. Never tried the mini but I've always wondered.... I just figured I had it covered with the fuck but that bias knob

I think the Mini has better tone sculpting capabilities. And the bias greatly affects the character of the dirt. I think the Mini can get heavier too. And I could never get the "chunk" I wanted out of the Fuck. I tried one and traded it for a mini.

Do you think they both share the same fuzzy tendencies tone wise?

I concur, the mini rules so hard! I sometimes miss my fuck for the momentary crackle but I prefer the mini's expanded low end and bias control. Sounds mean and thick in high gain settings but I usually set gain moderately on mine.
Also, that new inverse print on satin black mini is the titz!

They're both definitely fuzzy. I just found the fuck to be a little smoother overall. The mini can be pretty smooth/transparent, but it definitely gets gnarlier.
