Anyone have or use an astrotone fuzz? They are supposed to be very vintage overdrive sounding fuzz. They are based on the Sam Ash FUZZZZ Box from the late 60's. I have a clone kit coming in the mail. Looking forward to building and playing with that.

Yeah this. I built a clone of a Durham Crazy Horse. Great versatile pedal. Does the Neil Young sound really well. But it does a whole lot more. Does some nice o.d and fuzz. Also makes your amp sound like it's about to explode. But in a good way. Bit of a learning curve but a lot of fun to be had while learning.

Is that clone kit that of the Analogman Astrotone or the original 60s AstrtoAmp Astrotone? (i thought the original 1960s Sam Ash Fuzz Boxx was just a re-branded 60s Astrotone made by the same people, no?)

The kit comes with the components to build both versions, the original 60's and the analogman version with the extended tone sweep. I will probably build the analogman version.

Yeah I still have it, love it and use it. No pics at the moment. Will be FINALY posting my pedalboard in the next week. Just waiting on an astrotone clone kit to come and tidy up a few loose ends and it will be posted.

Sweet! Did you augment the circuit at all, or is it a straight clone? I love mine too, it's my #1 dirt pedal and has been for years.

No mods. Kept it stock. I think it's perfect the way it is. Plus I'm no electronics guru. Built it from a kit. Ruetz modded a big box rat is about my pedal modding limit. But I'm slowly teaching myself electronics, so one day I might be able to mod more pedals.

Didn't quite get really fuzzy with my pickups. Does a nice saturated distortion though. Great amount of tonal options available. Especially with the Drive & Peak switches. Sounds really fantastic. I'm pretty partial to drive pedals with built-in filters however. So far, I've only tried it alone and stacked into a Mercy Phuk. Have mercy! It sounds truly amazingly fine stacked like that. Definitely gonna have fun with this one. I can try more stacking combos if you'd like more of my opinions on the matter.

Actually that sounds dope, if you happen to have a rat laying around that would be much appreciated. I'm interested in a really saturated distortion anyway. I was really interested in gettin mostly due to the drive plus filter combo. I'm low on board space so I want pedals that so more than just 1 thing or at least can get a bit weird or soemthing.

Stacked the MF Drive into the Blower Box. Sounds amazing. Both at high and low gain. (Both ways, high into low & low into high.)

The Blower Box sounds pretty nice stacked either into or after almost anything. I think the same is gonna hold true for the MF Drive. Although, I think I'm going to prefer the MF Drive stacked into things. It's a powerful tone sculpting tool. Highly recommended. It's pretty good on its own, but I think it really shines when paired with other pedals.

Hopefully I can get a trade going for the dirt pedal. Id really like it, I'll figure where I like it best but in probaby gonna go moog into ratz
