hes keeping the amp, selling the pedals.
he wants to scrub the original stenciling off the chrome with coca cola (?) and put his own stencils on. need to talk him out of that one...
one of the power tubes is bad, but that's it....lucky mfer.
he does put in a lot of time hunting. pretty much every day he'll hit up the local thrift stores.
i still have a ton of rad clothes i got when i was a kid scrounging around the thrift stores, but that's about it. got a $30 tie for $2 at a salvation army recently.... doesnt really compare to the above.

I would too. Those things are really cool but they're just objects and it's not like a Fuzz Tone can't be recreated. I'm not really a vintage snob; I don't give a shit if a modern reproduction can achieve the same goal. I keep hearing the word "mojo," which is both literally a totem in its historical origin but in the sense of guitar equipment it is also strictly a totem: it holds power only to those that believe an object can instill magical properties to their playing or their timbre or whatever is at stake when people invoke its name.

I work in Detroit and bought a 50's Gibson 120-T for $50. Thing was in need of help. Sold it to a contact I met on CL for $500. He's enjoying it and I enjoyed the $450 profit.

The mental image of this part alone was comedy GOLD.
