I prefer the ol' Peavey 215 to be honest. I've used a few 810s through sharing with other bands, never really jived with em. It'd probably be different if I didn't tune to F but hey!

I've tuned to F and regularly tune to G and A... my 810 does great... 215's aren't enough. it either has to be an 810 or like my peavey 210 218 cab. 215 cabs are guitar cabs to me.

Only an 8x15 will suffice.

Eh, to each his own. Nothing against 810s.

Someone on CL here was just offloading a Peavey 1820, man I want that thing. Spending my cash on respeakering my 215 right now anyway

Oh no offense taken just saying 215's are loud enough with my head.

It's all interactive. I'm running 95% 12's and a couple 10's. very happy. Tony is running 10's and 15's, very happy. Some amps dont like my cab with the 10's in it. some sound way better through that than anything else.

Oh no doubt. With my bass rig I've only ever ran one at a time. never was in a band on bass that I needed more than one of my fridges and head. even in my sludge band when we had 2 guitarists and they both used 2 ampeg SS150 half stacks. I still cut through easily.

810 is probs badass loud music package in a single cab imaginable. That's why they're used all the fucking time.

And I say that as a 15's biased person.
good deals are here.

Oh I love 15's but I've always viewed them as guitar rigs if it's 215 cabs. Maybe cause in two of my other bands we always ran 412's and 215's for guitar rigs. hell one of the shows I did this year with Dragunov I just hauled 2 215 Kustom cabs for my rig and it was massive.

it's not always about need. Tony could crush the guitar with just the CL400 and the 8x10. Add the plush and the 2x15 and it just brings the extra dimension and fullness to the sound. We don't need 5 amps for a three piece, but when something is down, I miss it.

Is it weird that I eq things by adjusting the volume on individual amps?

Not really. That's how we rolled in the band with the 412s and 215s. I was the drummer and the guitarist ran 2 rigs of Ampeg SS150.
