It's definitely not helping you to get info with people just saying Elements over and over.
All the constant Elements posts (particularly mine) are far from constructive, for sure.
But I feel like they do happen for a reason: people love it.

The Elements and Fuck are not "the best pedals ever" or anything, and they aren't for everyone.
And that's fine, it's okay to not like pedals.
The thing is, they are very versatile and well-made pedals that do a very good job at what they do for a whole lot of people.
The Elements in particular has a ton of sounds in it.
It's a good and common recommendation because its a good place to start.
Many people are happy with the elements, not just because it's super hyped all the time, but because it's a damn good pedal.

There are many, many good pedals that aren't the Elements.
So please don't feel like I, or anyone else, is suggesting it's the only thing that'll work.
But I would be lying if I didn't say I thought it was a good place to start.

I'm also a big fan of the Oh See Demon/Demon King.

Both can fetch a pretty penny but definitely worth it.

I'd say Demon King with Feedback Mod would be up your alley. Worth checking out at least.

It's already been mentioned, but the Digitech/DOD Death Metal is awesome. It's my favourite low volume pedal, and Jero can mod it for gain control for the lower gain stuff (which it is also good at). Should add that it's great at high volume too. I also like the MT-2 for low volume mostly cos the EQ is so crazy you can simulate the thump and grind you get at higher volumes.

But if 225 bucks is too steep you can always get a blem from Ryan for way cheaper - just head over to the Dr Sci forum. If you want to know more about the pedal and whether it can cop a certain sound pm me, as it feels like this thread is kind of over the Elements, but it's a pedal I know well and have used live heaps and I love talking about it.

If you like the Dist+ the White Light is a great choice. I'm personally a big fan. Although both the Dist+ and and WL are more overdrive like, but they work well on their own or with other dirt.

I believe so but not 100% sure if they are all motorolas.

Sorry to derail.

I have had a hot cake for ten years now. Contrary to popular blues lawyer opinion it doesn't do the transparent boost thing - it's quite coloured and sounds rad pushing stuff but kinda flat after a fuzz. As a light OD it is awesome. My current amp is too dark for it, but with the right amp it sounds great. As a fuzz I don't know how it has got the good reviews it has - I find it woolly, woofy and generally unuseable. I think it's a great pedal, sounds awesome stacked with a tubescreamer (TS>hotcake), but it is way more limited than what the rave reviews would suggest.

Thanks for your input goroth. Light OD is really what I need at the moment so sounds like I made a good choice. For a fuzzy OD I would use my fingerprint clone or crazy horse clone so I got that covered.
