I've thought "Man, I want one of those" for like 2 years and still have never bought one!

I've got an old school gold one. picked it up from mark as a blem unit. can't figure out where the blem is. whatev.

i like it a lot when i'm playing loud and proud. when the wifey is home and i'm jamming quietly on the pico valve it sucks. but i feel the same way about any of the dirt i'm playing if i'm at quieter volumes. is what it is i suppose.

I love my Pharaoh so much that I'm gonna take it behind the middle school and get it pregnant

This intrigues me greatly. Now I'm really gonna have to check one out.

I love my pharaoh as well. Is on my board for 3 years.
BUT I'm looking for something else, I like the thick heaviness of the pharaoh but in a way it's not clear enough, I'm looking for something that cuts a little better.

Anyone has some advice? :trippy:

I'll have to say that I was surprised at how much I like the Supreme. I mean, I like the general Pharaoh sound anyway, but the added tweaks are just really nice for dialing in specific tones.

The new graphics are fugly as hell. I still want a og Black Forest though!

I sold or traded my first Pharoah, but was using it more low-medium volume. The one I have now is a complete keeper, though I use it mostly with the diodes-out as a boost to my high gain Laney at band volumes. It is weird how low-gain it really is. It's pretty easily the lowest gain muff I've had out of about 10 of them.

I would definitely trade my pharaoh and cash or pharaoh and rat tail for a coven but otherwise I don't think I'll ditch my pharaoh.

I have it in a sarcophagus - between that and the domination bass fuzz of the lstr it is going nowhere. I have a black forest pushing in front of it too. People who complain about gain apparently haven't used the unclipped mode much! It gets way loud (not my loudest pedal, but plenty of volume)

I got rid of my first one because it wouldn't beat out my other muffs at low volume (Op Amp had more gain, and nastier, and Thundercloud just sounded better (more sustain, sweeter overall tone and sound) than any setting I could get on a Pharoah at low volume. "Fine" is OK when you have to play it at low volumes, but it really is best LOUD. Then it's a beast!

How are folks using them? Where in the chain? As a boost, overdrive, fuzz?
