I'm kinda sure that studio models didn't have a bound body but if you email Gibson customer service and include a pic and serial number they could give you a definitive answer. Even if it is a studio the early 90's ones were great.

Start though with
http://www.guitarpartsresource.comwhat you are looking for though is something that might be hard to find now… it's a Speedknob but it has that grip and I'm not sure if those are made anymore…

I think so! I found some buffalo horn knobs that are pretty awesome. Its not in perfect condition and its not all original anyways, so I think I'll end up going with those.
Maybe not though. Still gotta get it back from the shop before I put knobs on it.

That's no studio brother. Body binding and bound neck complete with nubs. looks nice! DO NOT MAKE IT MOAR BRUTAL! It cannot be done. that thing is perfect as is. i'm thinking it's likely worth a decent chunk of change.

That's what I was thinking.
I'm a little confused, because most of the LPs I see online say either Standard or Studio or whatever on the truss rod cover, but mine is blank. Hmmm..

Well.. the tailpiece is not stock, that's a Schaller like what Heritage uses, so, the truss cover could be a replacement. To me it looks like a Standard

dude, plug your serial number into the site on the link I posted and it should give you what it is and when and where it was made.

It told me when it was made, but not what model it was. 1991 baby! Life was good. I was 5.
