I don't care.
Else would be more active on tgp.

Don't think TGP cares about fuzz factories or zvex either.

i'm only speculating and this is just my opinion... but a few years ago when he saw DIY'ers cloning his circuits (most notably the Fuzz Factory, what with it's 20 part count build being a great "newb" build) he came up with that strange breadboard in a pedal monstrosity to try and get some of those sales back... i'm not sure if it worked because I stopped paying attention to all the vex stuff, it just was very transparent that he was trying too hard and he lost my interest... he went from "inventive builder" to "wannabe".... don't chase trends, create them...

And charging the earth for them. When the ff7 is unmasked I'll make one for about £30....
Minus the transistors which I don't cork sniff, ac128 will be fine....
arent you selling lovetone clones for $620?

well put!

I still think there still are things that can be pursued further, that are not really often implemented. It's not like he CAN'T try doing anything new/fresh

Cost of living + stronger currency means shit is expensive here.
Lovetone anything = massively more time consuming build than a zvex fuzz
If you'd followed Ian's for sale threads you'd see he's sold some real nice fuzz for waaaay under a hundred bucks. He'd be brain dead if he priced the flange that has no name that cheap.
I'm all for calling out dudes in the boutique world for being crap but I don't think Ian's one of em.

jus' sayin' at least vex is out there sourcing all these weird parts and creating original circuits with many under his belt. for less, even. and he has to pay a ton of people.

I still love my fuzz factory. I am not really interested in the ff7 though. The sonar pedal seemed like it could be fun to play with though.

It's a fine line between what's original and interesting, and what's boring and hackneyed. For Zvex to still be trying anything new at this point is admirable, considering that he could easily rest on his laurels and rake in that GC cash.

I would not charge that much for the flanger if it was SMD made in China and took me 1 hour to wire up and play test.
Anyone can see that what I charge based on my construction methods is reasonable. Whether that represents good value to you or not, I cannot answer. FWIW I make $30 an hour tops building these. Occasionally. For fun. For a hobby.

PS I only ever sold one flange and one ringstinger that were over $600. Most stuff $350 or less.

Heh, thanks
I wouldn't ever claim to be boutique though, I'm a DIYer that can offer specific builds to people occasionally.
