My brother has had my dynacomp for friggin ages now, so it has been a while, but overall with humbers, nice and thick...little bit of heat to the tone just before its starts to sound squishy...awesome sustain with all out fuzz....generally sounds a bit better when the power amp is starting to work.
My 2c anyhow.
I think you've just talked me into getting my comp back.

Those things you need to play the blooze and dad rock.

imo no use getting a rangemaster with a BF, but the others i don't know about

I agree with this. Rangemaster is like, missing piece status with humbuckers and British amps.
Not a fan of the results I've gotten...with single coils & American amps. Too top-heavy for my liking.
But I haven't tried with OP's amp so- it's worth a shot

I didn't realize that the treble and bass knobs pushed the gain. Makes sense though - I will back them off and mess with it some more.

Didn't even think of it that way. I was remembering an old thread on hcfx where dude was getting all pissed at his other guitarist because he wasn't using phaser properly, which was apparently on the slow parts.

Negatory. Slow and steady wins the race.

I came from death metal / black metal, to this day I still write shit at like 240 BPM+
