Personally I don't really like either and I don't think either of them look Fender like

I kinda gotta agree with this. I applaud the fact that you are going after unique designs, but the proportions on these aren't as strong as many of the Fender designs. They are quirky, yes, but I don't think they are "solid" feeling.ChetMagongalo wrote:Personally I don't really like either and I don't think either of them look Fender like

I know you said you wanted to shy awatpy from typical Fender shapes, but I think a neck thru jazz/jag body would sell pretty well.

I must also agree on this to be honest.ChetMagongalo wrote:Personally I don't really like either and I don't think either of them look Fender like
For me a Fender style guitar needs a 6 in line headstock, preferably with a reversed headstock as an option.
good deals with: the_brow, phantasmagorovich, alexsga, DarkAxel, goroth, The Wood Wizard, Tendollarcat, vbps, monkeydancer, intothegroove, Brobee

The brown one is sweet.
I'd play that.
It would be cool to have that general shape with some tweaks...

Re: Cast your vote for one of these guitars!
Let's throw something else into the mix.
Okay now to begin let's essentially throw out the "a guitar that will appeal to fender lovers" premise .
One thing I have learned is that the only thing that will appeal to anlover of fender is a fender (or exact knockoff), or a gibson for gibson lovers etc etc.
So with that in mind I may still pursue one of the guitars pictured in previous posts, BUT I have had a few requests to turn the new Allusion bass into a guitar.
So what about a guitar version of this?
Would it be more appealing than either of the two previously pictured guitars?

I really like those, they have their own thing going on and sit comfortably on the fence between fucked up and classy

Re: Cast your vote for one of these guitars!
I think the guitar would look better if the pickguard had less sharp points. What I mean is like towards the bottom of the guitar, the edge by the knobs is nice and rounded off and fits with the curve of the body while the upper portion is more abrasive less subtle
I do love the pickguard shape and body shape though, don't think I would change anything

Re: Cast your vote for one of these guitars!
I like the Allusion, But I think the pick guard should mirror the lines of the lower horn more closely. I'd also add some body comfort cuts. Square guitars rub me the wrong way. I really like the totally pointless chickenclucker carves on the ass of their guitars. Something like that might work well with this. Maybe add some curve to it and offset it to set it apart from what they do. I'd make the lines curve up from the back of the bridge so that it flows with what the pick guard is doing. I also have really been digging making an ever so slight route so that the pick guard is flush with the body. Been doing the same for everything on the back as well. Makes it all feel smooth.
