Please advise.
Smugness cost baby... I think boutique is the wrong word for what ILF has to offer...

one of the big reasons I bought a pitchfactor was for its synth mode; turns out I prefer a bsy600.
Dirt cheap or price gouge, if you like the sound then I try not to judge. Just understand that the price difference between boutique and corporate usually reflects more on volume than it does on quality.

I toured with a Boss ME-6B, Roland Chorus Echo (the big brother to the Space Echo, analog chorus and tape echo + verb in one box with sound on sound options), a Digitech RDS 3.6 delay, and a HM-2 (later replaced by the first run of the Dano big metal red thing in '95 or '96) for a good ten years.
Never felt I was missing anything that I could afford, the Internets didn't exist for gear shopping like now, and watching the beating that the vintage EHX stuff took on the road (bandmate went through and threw out a Big Muff a month on average), I was perfectly happy.
I could go right back out health permitting with the same old junk and be just fine.
Doesn't mean I don't want my ridiculous rack of fun stuff and 14 dirt pedals too, just things were different, and touring bands now make even less than we did back then.

My current board is full of *pricy* vintage & boutique effects, about $1600 invested. I would not bring it on the road.
It stays at home or goes to the studio. One thing I don't do is let price be the sole determining factor of my purchases. I use my ears.
But that said, many of these things aren't so easily tracked down...some are even irreplaceable/sentimental.
I would just as soon put together a touring board from Way Huge/Dunlop/MXR, Maxon effects, things I could easily replace from any music store...and get good sounds at stage volume. I've determined that Boss isn't an option for me because I hate how the buffers mess up my touch sensitivity (my amp doesn't have an fx loop).
But I could do some real damage with a simple lineup building around something like...mini germ FuzzFace, Rotovibe, Pork Loin, Echo Puss, Phase 100

D.O.S. get over yourself man. We have all said or done dumb stuff on the internet. Meditation and not drinking/drugs anymore have really helped me chill out and not troll ILF looking to start shit with people because I feel sorry for myself. You should try it!

Achtane-thank you.
I sold all of my gear to pay some debt off and am starting from scratch, what cheap-o's do everyone recommend? I'm looking for a fuzz, reverb, delay and looper. I would like them all to be in the $50 range used. I'm also thinking of getting a fender 2 12" frontman and a vintage modified squire.
Do make say think are amazing. Always put me in a good mood. Dustin wong is incredible.
Thanks for contributing!

I would totally tour with a Swollen Pickle, Harmonic Percolator clone, DD7, and Hall of Fame until the end of days.

That's it! I'm selling all my pedals, buying a Fender and a nice tube amp. Everyone knows tone is in the knuckle bones anyway.

Yea, I took what DOS put down as a joke
As for using cheaper/large company pedals...I could totally get by with just MXR, EHX, and Boss stuff, no problem if need be.

For cheap stuff I like joyo and ehx. $30 fulltone clone(that's more versified IMO) and a big muff used. My entire rig is just stuff I've lucked into from Cl or eBay.

If I were touring, I think I'd be happier with the serviceable middle of the road stuff than with the really cheap stuff.

I honestly don't understand how he uses the ODB-3. It always sounds so tinny and scooped when I use it. Boutique vs. Mass aside, that pedal just sounds like shit.

For good cheap dirt pedals, rat rat rat. Rat. Skully's recs are all good stuff too, I like the sound of the EHX Memory Toy a LOT, you should be able to snag those for under $50 any day.
Can't go wrong with the VM squiers at all in my experience, Fender Frontman amps are definitely alright, I might shop around for something else but people want different stuff out of amps so
^I've got the ODB-3 to sound pretty good, different strokes I guess.
