This whole thread has been "I have no idea what will help me get this sound, any ideas?"
"Everyone gives ideas."
"No you idiots not like that."

Should I lie and say they were what I was looking for just to be nice?
I TRIED being nice. It didn't work.
If you read my OP I said I was looking more for filters and modulation than weird sounding dirt. Hate me all you want, I'm just trying to steer the conversation back to even tangentially leading towards what I want.

This place has never once failed me before, no matter how heated it had to get before I got to where I wanted.
Though I do realize I would be getting fuzz recommendations if all I asked for was a good tuner ;P
And to really stir the pot, I want something sub $150. Used is ok.

Oh, really? Because what I read was:
DaveLawrence wrote:
DESCRIPTION CLIPPING CLIPPING BIG MUFF BIG MUFF OVERDRIVE
Basically I guess I am looking for an always-on, transparent pedal with a metallic edge that has some very subtle modulation underneath. Must play nice with overdrives. HAS to be crystal clear with chords, even ones with lots of open notes; that is an absolute requirement.
Anyone know of a pedal to fit this bill? Any filter or synth box is cool. Throw whatever you've got at me. Something preferably easy to find used though.
I don't hate you, though I suspect that you might just be a dude with zero social skills and a terrible ability to describe things in print. Especially since you failed to put any kind of a price point, then said "no that's too expensive."
Check out the a LAL Sandstorm (probably out of your budget), and go fuck yourself.

Wow...
Not only did you take out the important part of the post WHERE I SAID I COULD GET THE CLIPPING I LIKED WITH MY CURRENT RIG (ie. I HAVE ENOUGH DIRT), you left in the part where I asked for FILTERS and SYNTH pedals (ie. I DONT WANT MORE DIRT).
Jesus Christ, this place can get weird.

Dude, if you wouldn't be all The Riddler like and just be clear on what you want, give some more concrete (sound) examples or descriptions than maybe we could help you.
Next thing you also start to be unfriendly, not cool.
Anyway, I'll give it another shot:
metallic edge (non dirt) + LFO screams chorus or flanger to me
B.Y.O.C. Flanger, EQD Sea Machine or Electro Harmonix Small Clone (old one) on minimum settings maybe?
cheap filters
Electro Harmonix Bassballs, Mooer Sweeper
something I think you probably really want but it's too expensive
Rainger FX Air Traffic Controller
cheaper alternative
Copilot FX Arrow Airwaves 2
@D.o.S.
That's exactly how I read it as well, I'm definitely not drunk, maybe a bit sleepy though...

Read more carefully next time then please.
And I think spending so much money on "boutique effects" is downright silly; the allure is not there for me.
Will check out your suggestions though.

This sounds like a pedal suitable for the likes of Edgar Allen Poe....
You should invent one and call it the spooky raven pedal....

Now you're downright being an ass.
It's in the reading at least as much as it is in the writing so start looking at yourself and your actions first before you accuse someone else of doing something wrongly.
Good day sir!

I wish I read page 3 before I suggested the Edgar Allen Poe pedal...

Or, and this is a novel concept, you could have read "the writing" in the OP more carefully.
Specifically:
DaveLawrence wrote:Then I started thinking that the stacking of my current overdrives is enough to get that kind of clipping so going down that road will lead nowhere.
and
DaveLawrence wrote:Anyone know of a pedal to fit this bill? Any filter or synth box is cool.
It's all there, nestled away in paragraphs you barely glazed over. You read my post only so far as to fit what you wanted to hear. Good riddance.
retinal orbita wrote:I wish I read page 3 before I suggested the Edgar Allen Poe pedal...
I wish I didn't have to deal with page 3 either, but page 3 exists. Page 3 is cold, hard reality.
